I'm Shlok Kaneria and I am a creator. I have a passion for Machine Learning and AI, and love researching on these topics! Through the years, I have used creative outlets and innovative ideas to successfully create mobile apps, websites and other projects in collaboration with other entrepreneurs. I also love to make films (check them out here), and create art with inspiration from my travels.

    Architecting cloud solutions that deliver $XM/year in revenue and improving platform efficiency at Capital One’s Marketing Technology team with long-term business driven perspective and strategic decisioning that aligns with customer needs as well as OKRs.
    Led development for Marketing Technology in Retail Banking by creating external-facing API’s that manages how customers interact with seasonal promotions and orchestrating real-time campaign journey decisioning outlined by business intent.
    Mentored junior engineers in AWS cloud architecture, Jenkins, Kafka, Github, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the Exchange (API Management tool), DynamoDB, etc.

    Responsibilities include translating the client’s needs into technical web application solutions by understanding the overall goals, as well as their day-to-day business practices. Helped clients transition from out-of-date and inflexible web components to a robust, dynamic FAST end-to-end system using Agile Methodologies. Enhanced front-end technology using Java and MySQL to develop and deploy reusable web components and libraries. My direct contributions allowed us to manage financial assets for state governments across the nation.

    Contributed to several research projects within the graduate Villanova department in various fields. Assisted with teaching/instructing undergraduate research courses in multiple CS disciplines including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Developed Computer Vision and Machine Learning projects and submitted research papers to IEEE with guidance from CS faculty.

    JPMorgan Chase

    VWilmington, DE
    Coordinated with multiple team members to create a software platform using a MAMP stack solution to develop and run a dynamic web application. Received second place at a Hackathon hosted at the JPMC Delaware Technology Center. Used teamwork and collaboration to present innovative solutions for non-profit organizations looking for a specific technology solution.

Research

Research in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are my passions. I have always loved exploring the capabilities of technology, and these research papers showcase just some of my findings. My work has contributed to finding AI models that can be used to advance healthcare for individuals with Cerebral Palsy, as well as comparing various deep learning models and their efficacy when looking at Automatic Speech Recognition.

Latest Video

Short films have the ability to evoke memories, connect with an audience, and alter the way we see things. They take us to other places.

I have had a desire to tell stories, and I am never quite satisfied. From the moment I first learned how to click record on a camera, to piloting drones and capturing footage from a perspective unseen from the surface, making movies has become a passion.
